Do Affirmations Work?
Yes! They really do! In fact, I say the "I AM A TEN" affirmation to myself each and every day. (Check it out below!)
"I am a ten. I walk like a ten. I talk like a ten. I get what I want when I want it, because I always do what I ought to do when I ought to do it. I'm healthy. I'm wealthy. I'm smart. I'm strong. I am a ten."
It may seem silly at first. But when you repeat things to yourself over and over, you do start to believe what you're saying is true. How do you think we have so many pathological liars in the world? There are people who literally lie to themselves over and over until they actually start to believe their lies. So what if we used this strategy for something positive? What if we keep repeating positive things to ourselves over and over? You guessed it! We will start to walk differently, talk differently, and act differently. Because we will believe it when we say, "I am a ten!"
Each day, you have a choice. You have a choice to respond to the ups and downs of life with either positivity or negativity. You have a choice to wake up and say, "I am a ten!" Or you could say, "I'm only a four today." It may be the hardest thing in the world to say something positive to yourself when you don't "feel" like it. But your future can't be dependent on your feelings and emotions. Those will change. Be consistent with how you talk to yourself each day!
